For the past 3 years, I was a mentor in the Autodesk Women in Leadership (AWiL) program. Through regular meetings facilitated by the mentees, a group of 5 or 6 women would gather and discuss ways to develop their strengths and better position themselves for career growth. Topics ranged from developing your personal brand and preparing for your performance review, to how to seek feedback from your colleagues, to asking for a raise.
My mentees made a great deal of progress in their careers while meeting together: each year I was a mentor, 5 of 6 participants received a job promotion or made a positive, sustained move into a new position. This activity has been among the more rewarding of my career.
